Eid al Adha Animal Conditions for Goat, Sheep or other Animals

​The animal for sacrifice (Qurbani/قربانی) must be halal, however, it is recommended that it should be male, not female. It cannot be a bird, but animal with hoofs. Although, Pig has hoofs, but as mentioned, the animal must be halal. The Ideal age for Goat or Lamb/ Sheep for Qurbani is of 1 year, but in some cases, if the sheep looks strong enough like 1 year old, its acceptable. For large animals like Ox, Bull or Cow, age must be of 2 years completed, not less than that. All the animals who are intended for Qurbani should be free of any defects or weaknesses. Its a good thing if animals are beautiful and good looking.

How Many Days Till Eid Al Adha 2025?

The expected date of Eid ul Adha 2025 globally is 7th or 8th June, 2025, depending on the region. As of 6 May, 2025, Remaining days are 31.

  • Saudi Arabia: The Hajj which ends around June 5/6, 2025 will be celebrated around June 07. 
  • Pakistan: In Pakistan, it is likely to celebrated on 08th June 2025, this is subject to moon sighting. 
  • Bangladesh: Bangladeshi Muslims will also celebrate Adha in 2025 on June 8th 2025. 
  • United Kingdom: The most preferred celebration time is the evening of Friday, June 6th 2025. 
  • France: Events of June 5th to 6th will change depending on when the moon is sighted. So, Evening of June 5th to night of June 6th is tentative.

The Difference between both Events?

Eid ul Fitr is celebrated end of the Ramadan fasting while Adha is celebrated after Hajj, remembering the Sunnah, recalling the great sacrifice story of Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) and his son.
