Its a reality in Human life that whoever has came to this world, will have to leave one day. It can be called reality or harsh truth, but this is life. The Islam provides a profound understanding of the cycle of life and death, and what comes after. This article explores and uncovers the Islamic point of view regarding life and death and emphasizing its significance along with preparing for what lies beyond.

The Reality of Death in Islam:

One of the fundamental beliefs in Islam is that every soul will taste death (Quran 3:185). No one can escape this reality which will happen sooner or later, as Allah alone has the power to give life and cause death. "He gives life and causes death, and to Him you will be returned." (Quran 10:56). The Quran repeatedly reminds believers that this worldly life is short, and the ultimate destination is with Allah so one should always be prepared for that. For believers, death is not just the end but a transition to the afterlife. It serves as a reminder for humans to live a righteous life, preparing for the eternal abode. "Indeed, this world is a temporary enjoyment, and the Hereafter is the home of settlement." (Quran 40:39). This verse emphasizes that while life is fleeting, the Hereafter is everlasting.

Life in Pairs and Purpose of Existence:

Allah created humans in pairs to complete and support each other. "And We created you in pairs." (Quran 78:8). This divine arrangement highlights the importance of companionship, love, and mutual responsibilities in life. Moreover, Allah has designed human beings in the best form, as stated in "And We have certainly created man in the best of stature." (Quran 95:4). This bestows upon humans the responsibility to act justly and fulfil their purpose on earth.
