Ramadan 2025 | Iftar Dua | Dua For Iftar
Ramadan 2025 is here, and Ayrah Academy wishes all Muslims a heartfelt Ramadan Mubarak! This sacred month is a time of blessings, reflection, and strengthening one’s faith. Often described as a spiritual recharge, Ramadan holds a unique significance among the 12 months of the Islamic calendar. It is a time when Muslims around the world fast from dawn till dusk for 29 or 30 days, concluding with the joyous celebration of Eid ul Fitr. The expected date of Eid al Fitr 2025 is March 30 or 31, 2025, depending on the sighting of the moon globally.
One of the most anticipated moments during Ramadan is iftar, the time when Muslims break their fast at sunset. However, iftar is not just about hearing the adhan and immediately eating rather, it is a moment of devotion. Before breaking the fast, Muslims are encouraged to recite the iftar dua (also known as iftar ki dua or dua before iftar). This special supplication is a way of expressing gratitude and seeking blessings.
The Importance of Iftar Dua:
Reciting the dua for iftar is highly recommended in Islam. According to Islamic teachings, the supplications of a fasting person are readily accepted. This is why many Muslims take a moment before breaking their fast to pray for their loved ones and seek forgiveness.
Here is the iftar dua in Arabic:
اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ
Iftar dua in English: “O Allah! I fasted for You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and with Your sustenance, I break my fast.”
Iftar dua in Urdu: “اے اللہ! میں نے تیرے لیے روزہ رکھا، تجھ پر ایمان لایا، تجھ پر بھروسہ کیا اور تیرے رزق سے روزہ افطار کیا۔”
Iftar dua in Bangla: “হে আল্লাহ! আমি তোমার জন্য রোজা রেখেছি, তোমার উপর ঈমান এনেছি, তোমার উপর ভরসা করেছি এবং তোমার প্রদত্ত রিজিক দ্বারা ইফতার করেছি।”
For those who prefer their native language, they can find iftar dua in Urdu, iftar dua in Bangla, or other translations online. Regardless of the language, the essence of the supplication remains the same thanking Allah and seeking His mercy.
Making the Most of Ramadan:
Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink; it is about self-discipline, charity, and deepening one’s relationship with the Creator. Before iftar, take a moment to make dua after adhan, as this is a spiritually significant time. This moment is also ideal for personal supplications, as Allah is said to accept the prayers of those who fast.
By observing fasting with sincerity and reciting the iftar prayer, we can make the most of this holy month. May Allah accept all our fasts and prayers, and may this Ramadan 2025 be a source of immense blessings for everyone. Ramadan Mubarak!
